From taking care of babies to taking care of families

From as early as I can remember, I’ve been taking care of kids - from baby dolls in my bedroom to babysitting my next door neighbors at age 12, I’ve been taking care of little ones all of my life. In school, my love of the arts met my passion for education at Emerson College where I majored in Theatre Education, graduating cum laude with special honors for creative achievements. Throughout my years in school, I worked as a nanny in Boston for several wonderful families. My intention had been to start teaching in classrooms, which I did for several years - but I didn’t feel the internal sense of satisfaction that I got from supporting families in the home. I made the decision to continue my career in childcare as a nanny, with a special focus on newborns and infants.

After years of working with families and babies 1:1, I began to realize that the care I provided was for more than just the little ones in the home: it was for everyone. Some of the most rewarding work I got to do was during transition times: transitions back to work, transitions in and out of feeding styles, transitions for parents as well as babies. Those transition periods allowed me to support moms and dads as well as kids, and in those tender moments I felt welcomed as a true part of the family. To me, it was and is an honor to see parents through these moments of decision, confusion, discomfort, and ultimately, joy.

My work, now, as a postpartum doula, is focused on supporting you through this time of transition, wherever you might be in your journey. It is my great privilege to meet you where you are and help you settle more fully and comfortably into your family life. Wherever you want to end up, we will get there together!
